All the CDV of the zone would deserves this «Talent d’Or”.

1. He has strong performances on a new renovated resort: he made Ixtapa in the top 3 best Club Med Worldwide properties and the first Club Med property with 5/5 in Tripadvisor.com.
2. He has strong results on more challenging villages: Sandpiper results this summer are very good with a performance in impressive increase vs previous years
3. He is a team player, best advocate of our new managing principles: He hit the West coast roads in 2007 meeting the Travel agency community to push Ixtapa, and lately in Montreal to push the New Sandpiper Academy and Mexican properties
4. He understands the importance of putting yourself in the client shoes: personalized approach depending of the nationality, culture age… his mission in the Strategic Marketing team had be a real plus in his career.
5. And of course he is an outstanding Team leader, developing his team: made his number #2 in Ixtapa Edouardo un estumpendo CDV in Ixtapa who kept the level at its outstanding level and
6. He never forgets one thing: “happy GO make happy GM’s”

The lasting impressions and true relationships he made while traveling with the sales teams in the USA and Canada as we prepared to open our newly renovated village of Ixtapa Pacific. Our Travel Agents love him and often mention him as a genuine asset and reason to send their valued clients to his village.
His ability to sustain guest satisfaction scores that are well above norm.

Jean Marc is the best COV I have had the pleasure to work with in my 2 1/2 years with Club Med. He personally made Ixtapa the resort it is today and it looks like he is doing the same at Sandpiper. Guests love him and travel agents love him. They want to embrace his personally and commitment to excellence. My kids want now to live on a day to day basis in Sandpiper as for them they feel to be at home. It is really due to the magic touch of Jean-Marc together with his great great team and I think he deserves an award for that;

mais arriver a faire vivre Sandpiper avec une telle ambiance alors qu'il faut bien reconnaitre que ce n'est pas le plus recent des club, c'est fort.
Arriver a faire sentir aux GM qu'ils sont chez eux, c'est tres fort.
Et surtout ce n'est pas seulement Jean-Marc qu'il faut féliciter , mais toute la tibu Desy car a eux 4 ils forment une équipe de choc.

I loved to worked with Jean Marc, he is a great man and one of the best CDV that I know, he pushed me everyday to be better. With his detail oriented style he tought me a lot about hotel services and management. He has a lot of empathy not only with his guests also with his team and his charisma motivated everybody to give the best. He is also an example with his family, I wish I could have the chance to work with him again.

Je ne connaissais pas Jean-Marc avant qu'on nous annonce sa visite au bureau de Montréal. Je peux maintenant affirmer qu'il n'est pas surprenant qu'il soit parmi les meilleurs chefs de Village actuels. Son charisme, sa gentillesse, sa manière simple et logique de régler les problèmes et sa profondeur. Il est le seul Chef que je connaisse qui soit venu s'asseoir avec chacun de nous au bureau afin de connaître les tenants et les aboutissants d'une vente GM. Chapeau Jean-Marc.

I have the chance to have known Jean-Marc for many years (back in Columbus 1996) and I must say that it is always a pleasure to walk in one of his villages. Having known Jean MArc for many years in the villages and in the offices, he is defintly somebody that I consider as a role model. His sincerity, leadership and vision makes him a great leader. ReplyDeleteJean Marc despite difficulties with a village closing, kept the team spirited, they had one of the better seasons in terms of sales and gm feed back which reflects on the hard work and dedication of the team. Of course the spirit of a village is so dependent on the leader, and he was able to lead fairly, with positive energy and creativity. I think he is more than deserving of this award.
ReplyDeleteJean-Marc's results in Sandpiper speak for themselves. After several years of mediocre results there, in a single season Jean-Marc was able to turn Sandpiper around, re-establishing this village as one of the Club's top villages. This effect can be ascribed purely to him too: the GO team there was still dominated by 1st season USA GOs, and no investments were made this year in the "hard" structure of the village. Jean-Marc worked with the same constraints as his predecessors, and achieved extraordinary results, proving yet again that great leadership produces great results. Bravo!

ReplyDeleteJean Marc is an incredible leader and ambassador for our GO's and GM's alike. He has opened his resort, when in Ixtapa, to the new GO's in Scottsdale to help them live the experience and better sell the dream of our product through the call center. He took this program to the next level by working with his team to develop a familiarization program just for our call center GO's and it has received rave reviews from all GO's who took part. Our GM's can't get enough of his enthusiasm and it shows in his reviews from his time in Ixtapa to Sandpiper! He is so deserving of this recognition!

A l'époque tu étais Chef des Sports aux cotés de Momo et déjà je savais que tu deviendrais très vite un grand Chef de Village.
Beaucoup de saisons sont passées depuis et un grand nombre de GM, GO et GE le confirmeront... You should be in the Hall of Fame of the Chefs de Village of Club Med

I would like to send my support to: Jean Marc Desy for his successful in bringing back a well, beautiful Ixtapa village back to the map of one of the nicest family resort in the Pacific ocean. Having experienced myself first hand last jan2009 when I visited myself for the first time Ixtapa, I fell in love with the new structure, new painting, finishing touch of the re-design restaurant, landscaping.....everything was perfect! So thank you Jean Marc for all your efforts.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Sandpiper, but have heard through words of mouth that this is one of the best golf courses in Florida. The American GM seems to like it very much too!

dernière lorsque Jean-Marc Desy y était
Chef de Village, du 06 au 16 Novembre 08.
Comme nous organisons ce groupe de Tennis depuis 20 ans, nous avons donc séjourné dans plusieurs villages Club Med de la zone américaine, ainsi que de l’Europe.
J’aimerais donc vous faire part au nom de tous les participants et organisateurs de ce groupe annuel de Tennis Voyage Trans-Club, que nous avons été vraiment satisfait de notre séjour au village d’Ixtapa Pacific et je me dois de souligner l’excellent travail de Jean-Marc Desy pour sa précieuse collaboration et son merveilleux accueil lors de ce séjour.
En effet, Jean-Marc et son équipe ont vraiment fait le maximum à destination pour faire de ce groupe une réussite complète. Ce village rénové est très beau, mais ce qui l'a rendu vraiment exceptionnel, c’est qu'en plus on y a trouvé une équipe dynamique, présente, souriante, aimable, bien rodé et très professionnel. Ils ont vraiment fait un travail exceptionnel.
En plus de combler nos attentes, il allait au devant de nos désirs ! Cela a fait une grande différence et grâce à Jean-Marc nous retournerons à nouveau dans un village
du Club Med !
Tous nos clients ont étés extrèmement enchantés de ce voyage et en gardent un souvenir mémorable ! Et c’est tellement important d’avoir de bons commentaires lors d’un voyage groupe.

ReplyDeleteFollowing his Happy GO, Happy GM formula, first he made a strong team, while traveling in villages, he had meetings with his then future GO´s, asking about their interests, expectations and how Ixtapa was going to run. Once we were there he made easy to meet your team and the beach every evening was the witness of a great team bonding.
The GM´s could feel his presence all the time as he always take care to know the GM, either at the restaurant, reception, bar or after the show.
Definitely an excelent leader, a very human person, a family man, a great CDV and truly deserves all the comments you can read here.
He touched this family as i am sure he has touched many others, and we are forever in gratitude

Jean-Marc a le Club Med dans la peau et c’est un vrai leader. J’ai ete impressionnee par son charisme, son esprit d’equipe et son dynamisme. Dans la tete de nos clients, Ixtapa sera toujours associe a Jean-Marc et l’image qu’il en a fait. A peine arrive a Sandpiper et deja on ressent son bouillonnement pour faire remonter a fond la cote de ce Club. Il est visionnaire, efficace et tres porte vers les autres. Lors de sa recente visite a nos bureaux a Montreal, il etait anime d’une motivation hors-pair : Ses idees, son sens du marketing et son interet pour les clients et leur bien-etre. Vraiment un super chef de village autant que X GO je l'ai rencontre au bureau de casablanca Maroc ( clubmed casa ),, il etait super gentil mais aussi j'etais GM au club med Sandpiper , il est plein d'energie et de responsabilite j 'ai passe une tres belle semaine de vacances avec ma petite famille et mon fils s'est tres bien amuse ... BRAVO et bonne chance pr tte ta carriere tu le merite le titre de bon coeur !

I am sure that Jean Marc is a good CDV, but Lionel Pirrot is the one who opened up Sandpiper in Dec 2010 and the results speak for themselves, via the GM feedback and tripadvisor, in fact Jean Marc is in Sandpiper now with a Canadian group, but my support is for the current CDV, Lionel and the President of CM from France agrees.
